i. Create a client pitch list.
Figure out a pitching strategy. Build the deck and sundry assets. Test pitches. Work on the most likely candidates.
ii. Build the guts.
An initial manual for how we build: protocols across hiring, contracting, articles of association, accountancy, comms, events, websites, design, style and tone of voice, training manuals, internal-wiki setup. Plus a budget and cash-flow projections.
iii. Take targets of opportunity.
Smaller jobs that polish and embody these skills — building a YouTube channel for Frank Furedi, working on a website.
iv. Recruitment.
Pre-emptively find skilled artisans who can later be onboarded — video, events, bookkeeping.
v. Set up the Conference.
Stand up the requisite infrastructure to host it. Begin marketing and selling tickets — to fund the initial working capital for the business.
